Based on Daniel Siegel's and Tina Payne Bryson's book No-Drama Discipline: The Whole-Brain Way to Calm the Chaos and Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind

Haven't had time to read a whole book? This Monthly Discussion aims to be the cliff notes for you! We'll embark on a condensed look at some of the 'take homes' from this book, including the true meaning of the word discipline, empowering parents and professionals to reach children, redirect emotions, and turn a child's meltdowns into teachable moments. By doing so, the cycle of negative behaviour (and punishment) is halted, as problem solving becomes a win/win situation. Seeing kids' behaviours differently and knowing how to respond helps us survive in the moment, and helps them thrive in the long run. A different frame of mind for all of us - with grace for ourselves and compassion for our children. Paid registrants will receive a summary of the main points of the book, to be further elaborated and discussed at the meeting.

Parent Support Meeting: 1:30-2:30pm

We've revamped our Parent Support Meeting with a new format! It will be an informal gathering held 2-3 times a year, immediately following our Monthly Discussion. We'll gather in two smaller groups to share experiences and ideas in a supportive environment. One group will focus on general parenting concerns while the other will discuss parenting children with attachment and behavioral issues. There is no extra fee for this portion of the meeting - just register for the Monthly Discussion; those who cannot stay for both meetings can just come for either the Monthly Discussion or the Parent Support Meeting.

This event is open to all parents and caregivers, waiting and prospective parents, adult adoptees, professionals and students.

FREE FOR MEMBERS

150HKD for non-members or lapsed members (or click here to join/renew your membership and attend this event for FREE).

Seating is limited, registration and payment are required in advance.

Please arrive to check-in at 12:20 for the Monthly Discussion meeting from 12:20-1:30pm. This will be immediately followed by the Parent Support Discussion Meeting from 1:30-2:30pm. All are welcome to stay for this informal discussion group.

You are welcome to bring your own lunch and beverage.
