We will explore how early life experiences impact neurodevelopment in adopted and foster children, and children from difficult beginnings, and how parents and professionals can nurture connection and integration through relationship and play. Virginia Spielmann, Occupational Therapist, will be sharing methods for promoting attachment, self regulation and building healthy minds based on DIRFloortime® principles and interpersonal neurobiology.

About the Speaker

Virginia Spielmann is an Occupational Therapist, DIRFloortime® Expert and Training Leader (ICDL) and is USC/WPS Sensory Integration Certified. She is an adoptive parent and a Hong Kong 'Third Culture Kid'. Virginia has more than 15 years experience working with children in a wide variety of settings and specialises in working with families with children who are experiencing developmental delays due to difficulties with sensory integration, relating and engagement.

This event is open to all parents and caregivers, waiting and prospective parents, adult adoptees, professionals and students.
