Base fee:

Special theme: "Perspectives from a Social Worker" - Guest Speaker: Vivian Ip, registered Hong Kong Social Worker and AFHK Roots Tracing Volunteer. Vivian has a wealth of experience working with birth families, adoptive families and adoptees.

The Waiting and Newly Adoptive Families' Group is an informal gathering aiming to bring together those who are currently in the process of adoption, who are exploring the possibility of adoption, as well as those who have adopted within nine months.

This will be a time to share experiences as well as explore topics of interests.

These events are open to :
  • members and non-members of AFHK
  • families who are in the process of adoption or considering adoption
  • families who have completed the approval process and are waiting to be matched
Participants may opt to receive a Certificate of Attendance which will note your participation and the topic of this meeting. We hope this may support an adoption or foster application by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to learning about the needs of parenting a child through adoption or fostering. The certificate will cost HKD30 and be emailed directly to you after you attend the meeting.

• 140HKD for non-members or lapsed members (or pay for membership on registration and attend this event for FREE). Payment required in advance.

The WNAF team welcomes those registering to send any questions they have about adoption in advance.  This will help the team plan for this and future events and for creating and sharing resources and information that will better inform and prepare you.  Please send your questions to contact@afhk.org.hk.  All questions will be acknowledged but we may not have capacity to reply over email.
