"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." - Thomas Merton
STOP PRESS - Given the corona virus outbreak that is affecting Hong Kong we have been unable to hold this event and will reschedule it at a future date to be confirmed when th situation is more predicatable.
There are some experiences that simple words cannot capture, and this is often true of the joys and sorrows we encounter in the fostering journey. So we are really excited to invite you to process the journey with an evening of art and hand-lettering! Gloria So from Barefoot Love Co has offered to do a creative workshop with foster parents, with space for foster parents to share experiences in the foster journey or hopes and concerns with future fostering.
..."But I'm not a creative person! I'm not artistic! I have messy writing!...This isn't for me."
Good news - no artistic experience or skill is required! It's not about skill or giftedness; just bring your willingness to experiment and express. You may find a new way to understand or explain what you've experienced as a foster parent, or just be able to get lost in the creative process for a bit. Either way, you will certainly find that you are not alone in this journey.
This event is for foster parents and prospective foster parents only, adults and teens aged 16 and over are welcome. Domestic helpers and extended family members who have shared in foster caregiving are welcome as well.
We hope to see you there:
