Monthly Discussion: 12:20 - 1:30pm
Sex is an important topic to discuss again and again throughout the child and teen years. Parents can feel unsure about what information to provide, and when. After all, it's not just talking about sex - it's also about hormones, puberty, attraction, respect, boundaries, and so much more. Additionally, for adopted and fostered children, children who have experienced trauma, and those conceived using donor-assisted reproduction, these issues can be even more complicated. Imagine what may go on in the minds of children and teens that they might not be able to articulate:
Though it can feel intimidating or uncomfortable, talking about sex presents an opportunity for authentic and normalizing conversation, accurate information (rather than just playground or social media talk), and emerging comfort for both adults and kids in talking about intimate issues. Join us to learn practical information and share experiences.
