Distinguished Service Award for Jan Henderson

Congratulations to Jan Henderson for receiving the AFHK Distinguished Service Award for her commitment and dedication to AFHK and to helping adoptive families in Hong Kong since 2002.

Jan will continue to work with AFHK as our joint Single Adoptive Parents Event Coordinator.

On Saturday 13th June 2015, our Chair, Louise Garnaut, hosted a lovely evening to congratulate Jan on her amazing service to AFHK and to bring the Steering Committee together to reflect and discuss AFHK’s work.

    Jan you have been an advocate and tireless supporter of AFHK and all who have been touched by adoption over the last 12 years. You have been a trail blazer and leader and have given so much of your time and energy to the committee with input on all aspects of AFHK's work and importantly organising events - talks, seminars, webinars, film nights, the annual holiday party with Santa Claus, the annual dinner with speaker, the AFHK picnic, dim sum lunches, single parent get togethers. Too many events to name! You have been a role model for all adoptive parents with your openness and willingness to share from your parenting experiences. We are grateful.
