AFHK Annual Family Picnic

You can there by taxi to Victoria Peak Gardens, (San Dan Gong Yuen). Or drive and park next to the gardens at the metered parking, but you'll need to get there early to get a spot. POr park at the Peak Galleria ($38 per hour) and take a short taxi ride from there up to the Gardens. Or make an adventure of it and take the peak tram for the scenic route. Walking from the Peak Galleria to the Gardens is uphill all the way and can be a challenge with a picnic basket and children so it could be best to taxi it up the hill. If coming by car get out once you're at the top of the gardens where the metered parking is and look out for our volunteers in the yellow t-shirts who'll direct you to walk down to the first garden.

You'll need to bring your picnic gear including a blanket and/or lawn chairs, lunch and drinks for your family, hats, sunblock and insect spray. There is a kiosk that sells cool drinks and very basic snacks. Feel free to bring balls, frisbees or other playthings however we will have lots available too. Beer and wine are permitted in the park. There are no BBQ facilities and there are public toilets nearby. Cell phone reception may be poor for some carriers.

Games will start around 1.15 and will finish at 4 with our Mega Tug of War and refreshing watermelon. The tattoo bar will be open all day. The play area for the little ones will also be available all day.

When booking please include the number of adults and children attending the Picnic. Please include your child/rens ages and sex for planning of games and prizes.

In the event the Typhoon 8 or Black Rain storm signal is raised before the event begins, the event will be cancelled and rescheduled for the following Saturday September 20th 2014. Please link to the event's registration page via your email confirmation for further information of inclement weather on the day. The AFHK Steering Committee will monitor the situation and post any event changes to the event's registration page, as well as the AFHK Web site home page.
