Parent Support Meeting - Small Group Discussions on Topics of Parents' Choice

Parents often have a number of questions swirling around in their minds...

• What's the best way for me to facilitate attachment with my newly adopted child?
• How do I talk about adoption with my child?
• What can I do about my child's intense emotions or rages?
• How do I help my child who is encountering bullying at school?
• Should I have my teen see a counselor for the problems s/he is facing? 

At this meeting, we will break into smaller discussion groups to meet the needs of our diverse families and allow for deeper discussion on specific issues that families are experiencing.  Parent mentors will be available to share their experiences. Depending on attendance, we will offer one small group that will focus primarily on Attachment and Behavioral Issues, and another small group that will be open for discussion on any adoption-related topics or questions that attendees want to discuss.  So come with an issue you want to discuss or just a listening ear! 

This event is open for all parents and caregivers, waiting and prospective parents, and adult adoptees.  A limited number of professionals and students may be allowed to attend.  Please contact us by email if you are a professional or student who is interested in attending.
