Child and Adolescent Counselor Ms. Alexandra Meyer will discuss effective approaches parents can use to help their child (and themselves) manage intense emotions including anger. Factors such as child centered problem solving, assertiveness training, and mindful relaxation strategies.

Ms. Meyer works at Southside Family Health Practice as a Child and Adolescent Counsellor. She has eight years teaching experience, in ages 4-8 years old. Along with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, she also has a Master's in Counseling from Monash University. She has two years experience counseling children and adolescents, and her counseling interests include working with individuals with emotional issues (anger and anxiety), social thinking/awareness skills and executive functioning skills.

Our conversations have been fruitful, and the meetings continue to be a useful time for connecting with other adoptive parents and sharing our experiences. If you have not yet joined us for a meeting, we welcome you to come and participate in our next discussion!
