Happy Holidays and save the date for our January Parent Support Meeting with Ms. Carla Nagel!

Our next Parent Support Meeting will be on Friday, January 18 from 12:30-2:00.

Our guest speaker will be Ms. Carla Nagel, who will be speaking on Tears, Fears, and Meltdowns: Anxiety and Building Self-Esteem in Children. We'll discuss the successes and challenges of children’s social and emotional development. The session will be based around how self-esteem develops, what are the factors that impact self-esteem and ways to help children overcome anxieties related to a variety of areas.

Carla Nagel is the primary school counselor at Hong Kong Academy. She has been in education for 14 years and has specialised in the social and emotional learning of children ranged from 3 to 14 years old. Orginally, she studied and worked in the UK with a Bsc Psychology and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She completed her Masters in Counselling at MONASH university, Australia. Additionally she has worked in the United States, New Zealand and Australia. Carla is currently working within a pro-active as well as a reactive counselling service, where she supports students, parents and teachers though a range of social and emotional developments and issues.
