Join our next Waiting & Newly Adoptive Families Group meeting to learn about the process of transitioning your child into your home. You will hear valuable experiences from other adoptive families that will help you consider what to expect.
About Waiting Families meetings:
The Waiting and Newly Adoptive Families' (WNAF) Group is an informal gathering aiming to bring together those who are currently in the process of adoption, who are exploring the possibility of adoption, as well as those who have adopted within the last nine months. It is a great opportunity to ask questions to our host team who have been through the process, and to others thinking through similar issues, in a safe environment. The gathering is very interactive and there is plenty of time for questions and answers.
WNAF events are open to :

members and non-members of AFHK

families who are in the process of adoption or considering adoption
-
families matched within the last nine months
Participants may opt to receive a Certificate of Attendance which will note your participation and the topic of this meeting. We hope this may support an adoption or foster application by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to learning about the needs of parenting a child through adoption or fostering. The certificate will cost HKD30 and be emailed directly to you after you attend the meeting.

• HKD150 for non-members or lapsed members (or pay for membership on registration and attend this event for FREE). Payment is required in advance.
The WNAF team welcomes those registering to send any questions about adoption in advance. This will help the team plan for this and future events and for creating and sharing resources and information that will better inform and prepare you. She became involved with AFHK through the Waiting Families meetings when she and her husband started the adoption process in Hong Kong in 2020. Alex is a mother to a beautiful boy.
