This 2010 fictional film by the makers of “21 Grams” and “Babel” revolves around three women whose lives have been impacted by adoption in different ways. Based in the US it is a moving portrayal of the lifelong journey that adoptees, adoptive parents and birth mums take.
Reviewer Roger Edbert gives “Mother and Child” 3.5/4 noting that “The film is founded on three performances by Annette Bening, Kerry Washington and Naomi Watts. All have rarely been better.” The NY Times said “This is a relaxed, loose movie that above all is dedicated to exploring the emotions and dilemmas of its characters. Its restraint and the patience of its scenes are arrestingly at odds with the emotional tumult seething just under the surface.”
It is 125 minutes long. We will start the film at 7:15pm.
