AFHK will be sponsoring its first-ever training for domestic helpers on Adoption Sensitivity!

Janette Pepall, who has trained childcare workers in a number of cultural contexts, will join a team of professionals and adoptive parents from Hong Kong (including a social worker, psychologist, and cultural trainer) to provide this training which will assist your helper to understand some of the unique aspects of your family.

If you would like your helper to learn appropriate adoption language, understand how to handle intrusive questions from others, and dialogue more openly and comfortably about adoption with you the employer, then please consider signing up your helper to attend this training.

  • Thursday Sept 20 from 9:30am-12:30pm is for domestic helpers only.
  • We also strongly recommend the employers of helpers participating in the training to attend the optional employers' debriefing, which will be offered on Friday Sept 21 from 12:30-2pm).

Advance registration is required at both the training and the debriefing, and a certificate of attendance at the training will be provided for each helper attending. Save HK$100 by registering during the Early Bird period, through 6th September.
